Prague Castle

The castle was founded around in 880 by the prince Bořivoj of the Přemysl family. According to the Guinness Book of Records, Prague Castle is the largest contiguous castle complex in the world, covering an area of nearly 70,000 m² and is also listed in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The castle consists of a large collection of palaces and church buildings of various architectural styles – from the remnants of Romanesque buildings from the 10th century through the Gothic modifications of the 14th century, the interventions of the well-known Slovenian architect Josip Plečnik in the period of the First Republic after the latest modifications from the end of the 20th century.
